Gekkeikan Japanese Sake 

Gekkeikan which translates to ‘Crown of Laurels’, is a leading producer of the traditional Japanese drink: sake. Sake is a traditional alcoholic spirit produced from fermented rice. It is considered the national beverage of Japan. In the year 1637, Gekkeikan Sake Limited, then known as Kasagiya brewery, was opened in a small town of Fushimi which was well known for its high quality of water. Access to the ideal ingredients combined with a convenient location enabled the business to thrive in the years that followed. Today, Gekkeikan is present in various locations around the world. 

Gekkeikan produces various types of sake depending on the rice polishing ratio, variety of rice, variety of yeast and alcohol percentage. These types include Junmai-shu, Daiginjo-shu, Nigori sake, Nama sake, Utakata sparkling sake among others. Gekkeikan Daiginjo sake is an ultra-premium sake fermented at low temperatures. It is mild in flavor and possesses a delicate aroma, whereas Gekkeikan Junmai sake is the purest rice sake. It is prepared using only rice and water.
